Lord's Lighthouse Ministries

 Lord's Lighthouse

LordsLighthouseTeamOver two decades ago a number of people at FPCH answered God’s call for our church to reach out to our friends in the community with extensive needs. As it continues today the Lord’s Lighthouse serves a few hundred people a week. Every Sunday it begins at 12:00pm with a Bible study and then follows at 1:00pm with a brief homily as a hot meal is served. We believe in the fellowship of breaking bread together and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through relationships and caring our intent is to walk alongside our guests and offer prayer, friendship and information about other social services.

Hollywood Healthcare Partnership
altThe Hollywood Healthcare Partnership meets every Wednesday from 10:30am to noon. This ministry began in 2003 with the intent to offer a number of social services in one place. Participating agencies include the Department of Mental Health – Hollywood, the Department of Veterans Affairs, Queenscare nurses as well as agencies that provide housing services like Step Up, Housing Works, GettLove and PATH. During the program a lunch is served in addition to seminars on mental, physical or spiritual health operated by Department of Mental Health, as well as an Art Class and Free Expression time. This time of community engagement fosters friendships, personal development and an opportunity to pursue social services through these partner agencies.

Hollywood Winter Refuge
The Hollywood Winter Refuge Shelter began in 2012. It is an independent shelter which operates for the first two months of the year. The Refuge invites 25 of the most ailing neighbors experiencing homelessness to rest for the full duration in order to facilitate healing and connections to future housing placement. Guests are personally invited or come through agency referral. The Refuge partners with local churches such as Ecclesia, Reality LA, Blessed Sacrament, Seventh Day Adventists Hollywood and Broken Hearts Ministry to provide funding and volunteers.
