DWELLIMG 0978

The DOOR Hollywood DWELL program is open to young
adults, aged 19-31, looking to deepen their walk with Christ by living in an intentional Christian community while serving in a very direct way in our city. Dwellers live at La Casa de la Comunidad, practice receiving and offering hospitality in a predominantly Latino/Hispanic neighborhood, and work to provide dignified care and attention to some of our 50,000 individuals living homelessly in LA County through full-time agency/ministry internships. Dwellers discuss and wrestle with underlying causes of homelessness, from questioning the justice of existing social, legal, and medical systems, as well as engaging with Jesus' commandment to pay attention to those who are overlooked and ignored. More info here: www.doornetwork.org/dwell & www.facebook.com/DOORHollywoodDwell

DISCERN

DiscernDOOR Hollywood's DISCERN program seeks to raise up leaders from our own communities, through a variety of local partnerships and internships. Here in LA, we partner with YoungLife Hollywood and the community surrounding the Dwell residence to build relationships with young adults and teens. DISCERNERS help to host Discover groups, engage in professional development, practice leadership in ministry, and contemplate how their faith in Jesus can connect to their life goals and missions. DISCOVERDOOR Discover

The DOOR-Hollywood DISCOVER program is a service/
learning mission experience designed for participants of all ages and is open to all denominations. Examples of work assignments will range between painting interior walls at a homeless shelter, to admiring art on a wall on a field trip with people currently living without a home. We prayerfully aim to reveal the common humanity of all of God's children, no matter of circumstance, and we very much believe God is alive and well here in the city.
