In December, 2016, a Children’s Ministry angel went to be with the Lord. Martha Roberts was a FPCH church member for 53 years and was involved in several lay ministries before she became the Director of Children and Families which she executed faithfully for 17 years. Martha was a very special lady! She was instrumental in hiring me as Director of the preschool over 17 years ago. Martha loved children. She enjoyed inspiring the children with bible stories and activities, whether it be Christmas Craft Carols Cookies Night, VBS or Sunday School.
Martha loved flowers and gardens so we wanted to honor her by replanting gardens in front of the preschool. Martha loved flowers but especially roses and gardenia. The first phase of the gardens has been planted with a climbing rose, several gardenias, butterfly bushes, sage, rosemary, Spanish lavender and a lemon tree along with other drought tolerant plants. I am sure Martha is smiling from above at her new garden.

I will let you know when phase two is completed.
